My computer is in the shop. I felt like I parted with a dear pet when I left it with the good people there. When did I become so attached?

So far, I can tell you that even though I miss it terribly, there’s a certain liberation that comes with not being able to access your email or the internet any old time. We really do become prisoners of sorts to our technology. Please don’t read this as me giving it up any time soon. But it is an illuminating exercise, especially when it feels foisted upon you.

Already my closet is cleaner, I’ve read more in my spare time and there’s less clutter around. Not bad for 36 hours. And counting …
