Oh, the joy of writing something that challenges my every pore. When I attend an exceptionally exciting event or conduct a particularly stimulating interview, translating it to the written word so other people can share in it is like a drug that seizes me until it’s done.
For today’s Game Plan column, I sat down with author/consultant Anthony F. Smith for a second interview about his book, The Taboos of Leadership, and here’s what resulted — Understanding Humanity Through Taboos. I had had a strong response from readers to the first column (Balance, Wherefore Art Thou?) I wrote about the book and I thought a followup was in order. While the issue of work-life balance was my primary focus the first time around, I got far more understanding of Smith’s “bigger” message about humanity in this conversation.
