Author Kathy LeMay and I had a terrific interview, one in which she kindly agreed to coach me around forming a giving plan — based on her book The Generosity Plan — so I could write about the experience. I found it invaluable to read her book and add another dimension to my plans for 2010.
Today’s Game Plan: Crafting Your ‘Generosity Plan’
Happy New Year!!
I read your article on the Generosity Plan. As a former Peace Corps volunteer (2001) I believe that giving of yourself is important. In fact, as much as I gave during my two years of service I felt that I got much more in return.
But on a day to day basis it is very easy to let it go. Especially in these economic times it is hard to look beyond the family, business, personal needs of the day/week/month.
It is good to be reminded of giving. And remembering, at the very least, that it tends to come back 10 fold.
That has been part of our motivation for launching our business TallyZoo.com. We launched it three days ago, and it is a tool for people to track, visualize, and share the important data in their lives. If people were to use TallyZoo to track their Generosity Plans, well, that would be just great.
Thank you for the great articles and blog.
