Acting & life wisdom

Must thank my friend, actor Kathi Carlson, for suggesting I take a look at a book she bought recently, How to Choose a Monologue for Any Audition by Karen Kohlhaas. She found its wisdom transcended acting and thought I might appreciate it.

So with Oscar weekend upon us, I’ve put my two cents in today’s Game Plan: Preparing for Your Next ‘Act’

Thanks Nancy. Karen has a real gift for teaching and communicating, both in writing and in person. As an actor friend of mine observed, “she’s the Real Deal”.

Nice piece on the auditioning book. I’ve found acting training invaluable in all areas of my life. Interestingly, theater training was good for me as a child, building a sense of community and mutual responsibility. But camera acting is about the quality of your intimate relationships, THE midlife success marker.
