It’s not a new theme in my writing to lament the utter cruelty and childishness that the subject of obesity brings up in so many Americans. Having battled the bulge much of my life, it’s a sore spot. And while I’m not particularly aligned with my governor, Chris Christie, on all things political, it saddens me that people are so darned comfortable ripping on his weight.

Although I find Governor Christie’s principles alligned with mine and I respect that you have stated that the priciples are not aligned with yours, I find your point to be an excellent one. I agree that if he could do the hardest work of facing the real reasons why he eats to the point of obesity (harsh word, but it is true), that he would be a an even more successful leader than he is now. Your point was compassionate , honest and very articulate. Thanks

Wonderful write up! I like Gov. Christie because of his willingness to tell it like it is and back it up with his performance. I truly think he has what it takes to lead the country some day. I also like the fact that you do as well!!!! I’m sure you and I do not agree on some things, but I KNOW we would respect that and find common ground. WE NEED THAT in our leaders and both you and Christie seem to have that in your DNA. Great job, Nancy!
