I’ve never been all that knowledgeable about flowers once you get beyond roses, tulips and daisies, but today I purchased a gorgeous protea. Floral designer Erik Palcsesz listened patiently while I explained that I had just changed the look of my bedroom with a bold red comforter to match my Egyptian cotton sheets of the same color.
I was looking for inspiration for the nightstand, something to bring more life in. He suggested a protea and we started playing around with looks. I bought it arranged in a glass milk jug vase with some beautiful greenery around it and a green ribbon.
If the looks I got walking it home are any indication, it’s really eye-catching!
