The juxtaposition of seeing the movie Fair Game and watching interviews of former President George W. Bush making the rounds on his book tour was fascinating this week. Getting a close-up of former CIA agent Valerie Plame’s story — with a fine acting performance by Naomi Watts — and reading Bush’s account of what happened when she was outed just begged for some commentary.
Today’s Game Plan: A Look at ‘Fair Game’
Thank you for your article. I very much agree that the real soldier was left out in the cold. Mr. Bush’s memory of this event is predictably self serving. Somehow he has never seen the great injustice done by his government to this agent, and to the CIA. He wants us to know that he, “The Decider”, decided not to please Mr. Cheney by granting a pardon to Libby, and instead commuted Libby’s sentence. Wow! Where is the regret that this crime was done right under his and his Vice-Presidents noses. Makes you wonder if it was really just a nose job.
I couldn’t agree more, Stan. Thanks for the feedback.
