I probably get about two manicures a year. Yet I average about two pedicures a month. Not to get all girlie or anything, because I pride myself on not being “Jersey” about the whole mani-pedi thing, but I realized the distinction is all about my unwillingness to sit still.
While getting a pedicure, I can flip through a magazine, talk on the phone or check email on my Blackberry. While getting a manicure, I can do none of the above and I find it makes me antsy. I know, sad. A modern cliche.
Soooooooo … last week after getting a mani I realized I kind of liked it. Not just the sitting still part but the way my hands felt and looked. It’s a little thing I can do to bring some space into my routine. I even stopped at the drugstore today and bought a couple of bottles of polish for those in-between manicure days. Right now I’m wearing an OPI shade called “I’m Suzi & I’m a Chocoholic.”
Don’t ya jes’ love it? Chick-a-boom, chick-a-boom, boom, boom …
