What a sweet stroll through time Woody Allen takes us on in the movie Midnight in Paris.
When a present-day writer finds himself transported back to the 1920s, not only do we get glimpses of Ernest Hemingway, Zelda and F. Scott Fitzgerald, Pablo Picasso and Gertude Stein, just to name a few, but Allen also manages to give us some balance in the snapshot. Large egos, emotional frailties, gargantuan talent, love of fine things.
Ah, artists. Love ’em.
