One of my favorite things about being a writer and coach is encouraging others in their writing. Sometimes as art, but always as expression. Even better in some cases if it’s a way to earn a living.

So when I hear “I want to do what you do” I immediately come to attention and assess where the person is in their writing life. Are they even writing? What kind of time are they devoting to this thing they claim to love? This led me to writing a piece about commitment, with help from Malcolm Gladwell and Brandon Steiner.
